          Job Summary:The Certified Nurse Practitioners functions as a member of the healthcare team in a manner consistent with their scope of practice in Pennsylvania in concert with the policies and procedures of Hahnemann University Hospital. The Clinical Nurse promotes image enhancement of the organization and its service. The Certified Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) is a licensed nurse who is certified to practice in an advanced scope of practice. The CRNP is responsible and accountable for her/his professional expertise and demonstrates a high level of knowledge while performing acts of medical therapeutics in collaboration with and under the direction of a physician who is licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

          The CRNP maintains professional values that promote his/her role to serve as a role model to other nurses in the hospital and community, to serve as a resource person for nursing staff who have questions or concerns regarding patient problems, to serve as educator who teaches other nurses advanced assessment techniques, and to participate on relevant committees that will enhance the practice of nursing and promote change that will increase patient satisfaction and outcome.

          Training & Education:Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

          Experience:Prior work experience suitable for the position is preferred.

          Supervisory Responsibility: The nurse practitioner will be responsible for guiding and assisting the physician in direction of patient care with other members of the team in accordance with the established collaborative protocols.

          Required Licenses: Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse: RN, CRNP State of Pennsylvania

          Professional Qualifications:RN; ACLS certification required
