This is an accredited court reporter position at the full performance level. This position will serve as a court reporter for any function within the judicial system that requires reporting. Such functions could include trials, pre-trial hearings, criminal pleas, conferences, juvenile and family court hearings including contested masters hearings. This position will typically float from assignment to assignment on a weekly scheduled basis and record all occurrences in the Court Room and or Hearing Room in which they are assigned. They will be required to prepare transcripts and orders when necessary in accordance with PA Rules of Administrative Operations. A complete job description with specific duties listed is on file. REQ: High school graduate with an Associates in specialized business degree with Court Reporter concentration. To establish the court reporter ability the applicant must be able to write conflict free machine shorthand, to write machine shorthand at 225 words per minute with a minimum accuracy of 93 , to type 60 wpm with a minimum of five errors, to produce a verbatim record of the deposition, hearing and/or trial.
